France says Syria can no longer live under fear, arbitrariness

(MENAFN) France stated that Syria must move beyond an era of intimidation and unchecked power, as the country observes the first anniversary of Bashar al-Assad’s removal, according to reports.

In a message shared on a major social media platform, the French foreign minister wrote: "A year ago, Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian regime collapsed. The hell of the Sednaya prison came to an end. This moment must remain a point of no return. Syria can no longer live under fear and arbitrariness."

He further emphasized the importance of justice for those who suffered and the need to ensure safety for the Syrian population.

Assad, who had governed Syria for nearly a quarter of a century, fled to Russia last December, bringing an end to the Baath Party’s decades-long dominance.
