Data shows July is third warmest month globally
Reports show that global temperatures during the month were 1.25°C (2.25°F) higher than levels seen before the industrial era began.
Across Europe, land temperatures averaged 21.12°C (70.02°F), which is 1.30°C (2.34°F) higher than the July average between 1991 and 2020. This makes July 2025 the fourth-hottest July on record for the continent.
Additionally, Arctic sea ice levels remained well below normal, measuring 10% lower than average. This figure ties July 2025 with the same month in 2012 and 2021 for the second-lowest sea ice extent in 47 years of satellite monitoring.
