Dubai’s GITEX Global 2023 Event Ends
(MENAFN) GITEX Global, one of the most prominent technology events worldwide, convened global technology leaders and enthusiasts in Dubai from October 13-17.
The event placed special focus on revolutionary technologies that are expected to shape the future, including artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing.
Over 6,800 companies from 180 countries participated in the 45th edition of the event, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Center.
This year’s gathering attracted prominent tech giants such as Google, Huawei, IBM, and Microsoft, alongside more than 40 unicorns — startups valued at over $1 billion.
The event saw participation from around 2,000 startups, and one notable highlight was the online appearance of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Altman shared his perspectives on AI, along with other industry experts.
Diversity played a key role in the event, with approximately 80% of the attendees coming from countries outside of the United Arab Emirates. Several international pavilions showcased their innovations, with Türkiye presenting its technology offerings prominently. Sixty Turkish companies, spanning industries such as cybersecurity, fintech, AI, and robotics, were in attendance.
The Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry, together with the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office, made their debut at the event with a joint pavilion titled "Turcorn-Invest in Türkiye."
Their goal was to boost the country’s image as a hub for innovation and technology on the global stage while fostering opportunities for domestic startups, partnerships, and investment. The ministry also organized the "Turcorn 100" program to connect promising Turkish startups with international investors at the event.
