Rocket Strikes Target US Embassy in Baghdad

(MENAFN) A series of rocket and drone attacks hit the US Embassy compound in Baghdad early Tuesday, setting off sirens and interception alerts, according to reports.

At this time, details regarding the extent of damage or any potential injuries have not been released. The strikes occurred just hours after a drone impacted the upper fence of the Al-Rasheed Hotel in the Green Zone, which reportedly caused no injuries or property damage.

The attacks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28, resulting in approximately 1,300 deaths, including the country’s then-supreme leader, as stated by reports.

In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military facilities. These operations have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted both global markets and aviation, according to reports.
