Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian Takes an Interview with “Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road · Colours of Africa” Program “Ambassador’s Dialogue”

On August 17, Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania H.E. Chen Mingjian took an interview at the Embassy with “Ambassador’s Dialogue,” a program of “Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road · Colours of Africa” produced by Shaanxi Radio and Television Media Convergence Group under the framework of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.

Ambassador Chen elaborated on the opportunities and outcomes brought by China's zero-tariff policy in unleashing Tanzania's economic potential, and envisioned broad prospects of revitalizing and upgrading the TAZARA Railway into a road to development and a road to prosperity. She noted that organizing the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Africa is an important consensus reached between Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping and African leaders, which will inject fresh impetus into promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and people-to-people bonds between China and Africa.

Following the interview, Ambassador Chen solemnly affixed the seal on the team’s commemorative travel pass for its African journey, encouraging it to serve as a media bridge to carry forward traditional friendship and tell vivid stories of China and Africa forging ahead hand in hand in the new era.
