Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian Attends“Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road · Colours of Africa” Drone Light Show

On the evening of August 17, “Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road · Colours of Africa” Drone Light Show, a featured program of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges presented by Shaanxi Radio and Television Media Convergence Group, was successfully held in Dar es Salaam. Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania H.E. Chen Mingjian, Kinondoni District Commissioner Saad Mtambule, Chinese and Tanzanian people from all walks of life attended the event.

Ambassador Chen noted that tonight’s performance is not only a visual feast powered by modern technology, but also a heart-to-heart dialogue between China and Africa that spans mountains and seas. China stands ready to work with Tanzania to take the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges and the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Africa as an opportunity to carry forward traditional friendship, deepen mutual learning among civilizations, and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

Lighting up the night sky, a display of 500 drones formed 12 iconic patterns, including national flags of China and Tanzania and the TAZARA Railway, vividly conveying profound friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two nations. The venue resounded with waves of cheers and applause as the audience captured the radiant moments, envisioning a brighter future for China and Africa together.
