Barcelona Secure Convincing Victory Over Galatasaray in Champions League
Galatasaray opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Batrakov found the net with a shot from the edge of the penalty area after receiving a pass from Leao.
The hosts nearly extended their lead five minutes later, but Baris Alper Yilmaz’s header was disallowed for offside following a video assistant referee (VAR) review.
Barcelona restored parity in the 43rd minute. After a move involving Yamal and Olmo, Cancelo collected the ball on the left side of the penalty area and sent a shot into the far corner.
The sides went into the break level at 1-1, but Barcelona took charge shortly after the restart.
Fermin Lopez put the visitors ahead in the 50th minute, heading home a cross delivered by Yamal. Three minutes later, Yamal again contributed to the attack by setting up Gordon, who finished from close range to increase Barcelona’s advantage to 3-1.
Barcelona added a fourth goal in the 65th minute when Adeyemi gathered Jesus’ touch near the edge of the box and struck into the far corner.
Galatasaray could not find a response in the closing stages, as Barcelona maintained control to complete a 4-1 away victory in the European competition.
